# Advanced Backups Advanced Backups is a powerful and configurable backup mod, complete with a command-line restoration tool. Many Minecraft versions and modloaders are supported - request more if the one you want isn't yet supported. <details> <summary>SPIGOT/PAPER NOTICE:</summary> There's a known issue with the end / nether being backed up when server software or plugin combinations move those dimensions out of the main world directory. Whilst I do not understand this practice - it's commonplace and as such, a fix is in the works to ensure these get backed up. For now, you may wish to consider an alternative solution for backups. </details> ## Features: - Command-line restoration tool built into the jar, with helper scripts to run it - Optional differential or incremental backups to reduce backup size whilst still retaining the same data - Extensive config options to control schedules, logging, activity requirements and more - Three different automatic purging options - full control over when a backup is deleted - Command based "snapshots" that are immune to automatic purging - Client-side toasts - get notified when backups happen. Can be disabled client or server-side, and restricted to ops or allowed for all players - Set a minimum or maximum time between backups - avoid common problem scenarios for local worlds ## FAQ: - How do the client toasts work with Spigot servers? - A client needs the Forge, Neoforge or Fabric version of the mod to see the toasts. This works even on Spigot servers. - Will a backup be made if nobody has been online since the last backup? - By default, no. This can be changed in config if need be. - Can the mod run server-side only? - Yes, the mod can work entirely on the server - a client-side installation is only required to see backup toasts. - How do I run the command-line tool? - There's scripts provided in your backup folder, or you can use `java -jar` to run it. # Advanced Backups - 3.0.1 This is a small fix which reintroduces the save toggle when making backups, and fixes the bug where saving wouldn't be re-enabled. The 3.0 changelog is below. **THIS IS A BREAKING UPDATE! THE COMMANDLINE TOOL WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RESTORE BACKUPS FROM PREVIOUS VERSIONS!** - Completely separate backups from different worlds. - This fixes a number of bugs regarding backups from different worlds getting mixed up both when calculating what files to backup and when restoring differentials / incrementals. - Fixes a config loading error. - ~~Temporaily disables save disabling whilst some issues are investigated.~~ Reverted in 3.0.1
