# SketchBound-V3.1 — Canvas, Specular & Subsurface Scattering!
## ✨ New Features
- **Canvas Mode** — New Woven canvas texture Drawing Surface for Paint mode.
- **Subsurface Scattering** — New soft glow that lets light shine through blocks like leaves.
- **Per-Surface Specular** — Water, Glass, and Ice now have independent specular.
- **Directional Light Strength** — New sliders for how strongly sun/moon direction affects shading.
## 🔧 Improvements
- **Newer Block Support** — Added many newer Minecraft blocks (vines, azaleas, mangrove/cherry leaves, copper bulbs, etc).
- **Bloom Intensity** — Reduced, bloom no longer stacks up to blown-out white.
- **Godrays** — Slightly brighter, warmer by default.
- **Drawing Surface Menu Reorganized** — Paper settings renamed/regrouped to make room for Canvas.
- **Handheld Light** — No longer stacks with block light, fixing brightness beyond what's natural.
- **Block Light Daylight Fade Fix** — Torches etc. now correctly dim in full daylight.
- **Glass Self-Shadowing Fix** — Glass (and similar) no longer incorrectly shadows/tints itself.
- **Water Vertex Distortion Fix** — Fixed some block entities waving like water.

## ✨ New Features
- **Blueprint Mode** — A new Drawing Style. White linework on a blue background, no textures, with a world grid.
- **Chalkboard Mode** — A new Drawing Style. White chalk on a dark board, no textures, with a chalk dust haze.
- **Comic Mode** — A new Drawing Style. Bold, solid lines with cel shading and Ben-Day dots.
- **Textureless Comic Mode** — A new Drawing Style. Same as Comic, but with textures disabled.
- **World Grid** — New grid system for Blueprint Mode.
- **Pencil Dust** — New haze/smudge overlay tinted with the current Pencil Color, used by Chalkboard Mode.
- **Ben-Day Dots** — New shading style alongside Hatching, used by Comic and Textureless Comic.
- **Pencil Blend Mode** — New Multiply/Screen setting for how the pencil color combines with the page, so light-colored pencils (like Blueprint's white lines) render correctly.
- **Paper Color Overhaul** — Paper/board color moved from a single Warmth slider to full Hue, Saturation, and Brightness (whiteness) controls, so it's no longer limited to sepia tones. Powers the Blueprint and Chalkboard backgrounds.
- **Split Light Colors** — Block light (torches, lanterns, etc.) and celestial light (sun/moon) now have independent colors instead of sharing one lightmap tint.
- **Sunset-Tinted Sunlight** — Direct sunlight now blends toward a golden-hour color near sunrise/sunset.
- **Moon Phase Brightness** — Moonlight brightness now scales with the actual moon phase.
- **Sunlight/Moonlight Brightness Controls** — New separate ambient and direct brightness sliders for daytime sunlight and nighttime moonlight.
- **Voxy Support** — Added dedicated compatibility shaders for Voxy.
- **Vanilla Clouds** — Clouds setting now has seperate third option to use Minecraft's built-in clouds instead of PaintBound's shader clouds (requires Clouds also enabled in Minecraft's own Video Settings).
## 🔧 Improvements
- **Entity Vertex Distortion** — Vertex Distortion is now applied to Entities, and is enabled by default.
- **Cloud/Glass Fix** — Fixed volumetric clouds appearing to render in front of glass.
- **Cloud/Pencil Line Fix** — Fixed volumetric clouds suppressing the player's own pencil line rendering.
- **Block Light Brightness** - Increased default block light brightness.

## ✨ New Features
- **Shader Skies** — Added a custom shader driven skybox.
- **Sky Kuwahara** — Added a kuwahara filter thats applied directly to the skybox.
- **Shader Clouds** — (Iris only) Added shader based volumetric clouds, inspired by the clouds in Escheridia by jrwilliamson
- **Whiteout Sky** — Added a "Whiteout Sky" setting that replaces the sky with a blank canvas. Useful for screenshots.
- **Outline Pencil Mode** — Saw a user doing that so thought I'd add it as a dedicated mode.
- **Lava "fog"** — Added a screen space overlay that shows up when you're in lava or powdered snow.
- **Star settings** — Added some star settings.
## 🔧 Improvements
- **Rain Transparency** — Rain opacity decreased to 50%.
- **Rain Fog** — Fog now increases just slightly in rain.
- **Bloom Performance** — Improved performance of soft bloom.

- **Fog Setting** — From popular demand, added setting to turn off border fog and water based fog. This MARGINALLY improves Voxy support (still needs work).

# SketchboundBound-V2.1 — Painterly Mode!
This is a major update which mainly adds a Painterly color style! If you would like this to be the default, check out PaintBound!
We are skipping to V2.1 to stay consistent with PaintBound versioning.
## ✨ New Features
- **Painterly Mode** — A new Drawing Style that uses a Kuwahara filter to give the world an painted look!
- **Volumetric Godrays** — Crepuscular rays radiating from the sun and moon.
- **Purkinje Effect** — At night, colours desaturate and shift toward blue-green, simulating how human vision works in low light.
- **Dynamic Handheld Light Sources** — Handheld light-emitting blocks (torches, lanterns, etc.) now illuminate surroundings.
- **Color Temperature** — New slider in Color Grading to shift white balance toward warm or cool tones.
- **Lut Creator!** — Added an included script to make custom luts!
## 🔧 Improvements
- **Color Palettes now use LUTs by default** — Dramatically faster than the old brute-force lookup. The old Custom 1×N mode is still available for testing palettes from sites like lospec.com, and a new Custom LUT option lets you supply your own pre-baked LUT.
- **White Vignette** now has three separate controls (Strength, Radius, Softness) grouped in a dedicated sub-screen.
- **Cave Darkness** — A new slider to control how dark underground areas are. Also fixes the root cause: previously the shader used the wrong sky-light value, making caves nearly as bright as the surface.
- **Shadow transition fix** — Fixed a visual shadow artifact that appeared briefly at sunrise and sunset.
- **Reduced file size** — Removed unused luts and palette png's.
