It offers a ton of high quality effects, two default visual style choices, custom effects for almost every block in the game, profiles ranging from Potato to Ultra and it's designed to never be obstructive during gameplay. It started as an edit of BSL Shaders in 2018, and it received countless major updates including a complete rewrite to meet the standards of our community. Complementary Shaders is dedicated to be shaped by user feedback over anything else, and it still receives regular updates to this day. "Unbound" is one of the two default styles Complementary Shaders r5 comes with. It is the less restricted style of Complementary that aims for a more realistic image. The long awaited Voxy support update is here, but with so much more unrelated features and improvements. In fact, the r5.8 update breaks the record for the longest Complementary changelog once again! In addition to the extensive Voxy support with working IntegratedPBR, the Distant Horizons mod also gets some of the Voxy support features like shadows and proper water reflections. Then there is the rewritten light shafts that look quite similar to the old ones while performing better, the reworked End atmosphere with world-space End Beams that coat the End dimension alongside their intense reflections, the improved rain/snow texture handling, improvements to world-space reflections, a lot of new customisation options, improved performance on higher settings, a ton of tweaks to improve the look of several edge case scenes, and so much more. Most notable ones being the new "Colored Candle Lighting" and "Colored Light Saturation" settings for Advanced Colored Lighting, the "Distant Light Bokeh" option, and the "IPBR+ Emissive Mode" setting that opens up flexible customization of IntegratedPBR emissives for the first time. The key feature of this update is the introduction of "Advanced Colored Lighting". Using the power of Iris, we can finally have a colored lighting implementation in Minecraft shaders without getting the critical flaws seen in most others. Massive thanks to sixthsurge for the help.
